Safeguarding and Reporting

Safeguarding Children who may be at Risk

If you suspect that a child or young person is being harmed or is at risk of being harmed then you have a duty to report it immediately.

If you suspect a child or young person is at immediate risk of harm you need to call 999 and speak to the South Wales Police.

All calls concerning worries about children are treated seriously.  If it is found that a child is being abused or is at risk of significant harm professionals will work together with the family to ensure that the child can be protected.

It is important for everyone involved with children and young people to work together to try and keep them safe from harm. Above all, the needs of children and young people must come first.

If you are in any doubt about reporting your concerns don’t think ‘What if I’m wrong?’, think ‘What if I’m right?’.
